Invested $3 million into Early Childhood Education to give families free access to the City's new Pre-K program, The Shreveport Early Start Initiative
Mayor Adrian Perkins
ADRIAN PERKINS is the Mayor of Shreveport, Louisiana.
A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Adrian Perkins is the Mayor of Shreveport. After graduating from West Point as the first African-American elected Class President in the school’s history, he served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He achieved the rank of Captain and Company Commander in the United States Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. After three tours of duty, the Tillman Foundation accepted him into their Tillman Scholar Program, enabling him to attend Harvard Law School, where he was again elected Student Body President.
In addition to serving as Mayor, Mayor Perkins also serves on several boards including the Southern Rail Commission; Federal Communications Commission’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee; United States Conference of Mayors Advisory Committee; and Northwest Louisiana’s Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Since taking office, Mayor Perkins has been working hard to improve the quality of life for all citizens focusing on economic development, public safety and infrastructure improvements, as well as technology initiatives.
He is ready to continue serving the great City of Shreveport as your Mayor and move Shreveport forward.
